piaggio: Fast Forward campaign

 

We were given a brief to create a manifesto film for Piaggio’s innovative Fast Forward wing, as well as a few shorter form film’s that captured how this technology could be used.

The manifesto film captures much more than a singular innovation. It is driven by the ethos behind innovative thinking that is grounded in practicality and envisions a future where automated technology allows people to embrace human connections , rather than being constantly enveloped in screens and digital identities.

The visual and narrative approach of this film thereby focusses on conveying and bringing together raw, visceral and human moments in an observational form with a depiction of the ‘thought space’ that drives innovation. To bring this to life we adopted two stylistic approaches & pitted them against eachother - creating a visual representation of how the real/material opposes & compliments the digital/thoughtspace.

The shorter films came with a big challenge: because Gita was still just a prototype we had to show how it would be used in a way that feels real (& accurate to it’s capabilities) with ever being able to use or show Gita. We ended up going with a POV of Gita & then simply placed Gita in different scenarios to show how it could be of everyday use in the real world. We created a rig that would move & ‘see’ the world in the same way that Gita does - a fun & welcome challenge.
